Silk Reeling with Grand Circulation and Swimming Dragon Qigong
Wednesdays, 6-7 pm EST, starting Nov. 29, 2023. Note: no class Dec. 27, 2023.
To be well we need to improve blood flow, rejuvenate the joints, and increase strength and flexibility. This course includes two simple and fun traditional styles of qigong exercise as well as a powerful meditation for healing.
Strengthen the body and improve vitality! Silk Reeling Qigong is from the tradition of Chen style Tai Chi and involves simple whole body movements to recondition the joints and strengthen the limbs and core muscles. In this course you will learn a series of 12 simple, flowing movements that take away stiffness and increase blood flow through the spine, muscles, and joints.
Swimming Dragon Qigong is a short, fun sequence of gentle movements that increase flexibility of the spine, hips, shoulders, and arms as well as strengthens the core muscles.
Grand Circulation was created by martial artists as a way to increase the power of their strikes but is used by many today to enhance healing. With Grand Circulation we will move Qi through the arms and legs of the body to clear out energy blockages and balance the body. It can be used to heal muscles, joints, bones, and nerves. This meditation will also be added into the Silk Reeling movements to enhance its healing qualities.
This course is accessible to people of all ages and abilities and no previous experience is needed!
